The Doula: A Dad’s Perspective, Part 1

Many expecting mothers who consider having a doula wonder if her partner will be supportive of the idea. Some dads-to-be are afraid that their role might be replaced in the birth process. Other fathers wonder if having a doula is really a benefit to the mom if they as a partner are supportive or if a good OB, nurse, or midwife is present. I address more of the benefits to having both a doula and loving partner present at the birth on my FAQ page, but I thought I’d share with you what a couple of the fathers of my clients had to say about their perspectives on having a doula. This will be the first in my series called The Doula, A Dad’s Perspective. Enjoy, and share it with your friends! Please include a link to this site (mamamatters.com) when sharing. Thanks! Also, if there are any other topics you think might be good to see a video on, leave a comment! Thank you to INLIGHT Productions™ for producing the videos.
