The Doula: A Dad’s Perspective, Part 1
Many expecting mothers who consider having a doula wonder if her partner will be supportive of the idea. Some dads-to-be are afraid that their role might be replaced in the birth process. Other fathers wonder if having a doula is really a benefit to the mom if they as a partner are supportive or if a good OB, nurse, or midwife is present. I address more of the benefits to having both a doula and loving partner present at the birth on my FAQ page, but I thought I’d share with you what a couple of the fathers of my clients had to say about their perspectives on having a doula. This will be the first in my series called The Doula, A Dad’s Perspective. Enjoy, and share it with your friends! Please include a link to this site (mamamatters.com) when sharing. Thanks! Also, if there are any other topics you think might be good to see a video on, leave a comment! Thank you to INLIGHT Productions™ for producing the videos.
The Doula: A Dad’s Perspective, Part 2
The second video in the series includes two fathers discussing their expectations and concerns of childbirth, as well as how the doula enabled them to fulfill their role in the process.
The Doula: A Dad’s Perspective, Part 3
In the final video of this series, the two dads share more about their experience having a doula and how the doula specifically helped with the birth.
